The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the lack of care for elderly adults in America. Nursing homes experienced chaos and neglect, leading to the deaths of around 900,000 older adults from Covid-19. However, efforts to improve care quality and provide antiviral therapies and updated vaccines have not materialized. Despite a surge in Covid, flu, and respiratory syncytial virus infections among seniors, few people are taking precautions. The prejudice against older adults has intensified during the pandemic, with society valuing youth and viewing older adults as expendable. Ageism continues to prevail, hindering progress in addressing the needs of the aging population.
